The Northern Nevada Development Authority always stays one step ahead by keeping active in the community and working with community leaders and key organizations. Here you will find resource information to media and press events, local economic development news, NNDA's Sierra Regional Economic News articles, workforce training, and NorthernNVision reports. “Dream It! Do It!” - Workforce Training Initiative NNDA provides development authorities connected in purpose and with the ability to deliver a coordinated state wide program. A skilled, educated workforce is the most critical element for innovation success, and a decisive factor in global competitiveness.
Manufacturers look at their workforce as a business investment: the more mobile, adaptable, technology-savvy, and creative an employee, the more secure the investment.
- NNDA will serve as the conduit for program and funds to bring new opportunities to students and the educational system.
- National manufacturing careers recruitment strategy developed to inform students of valuable opportunities in manufacturing.
- Dream It! Do It! fosters growth, innovation, and jobs by building entrepreneurial, regional alliances and providing youth-oriented awareness and education initiatives designed to capture and prepare the next generation of skilled American manufacturing talent.
“Dream It! Do It!” is also positioned as an engagement tool that feeds young students into specific educational pathways aligned with career pathways in high-quality, high-paying jobs. These pathways are specifically accessible through the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certification System. Every employee that is hired is a million-dollar investment. If those employees can be verified—through industry-validated certifications—that each incoming worker has the right skills, it could mean the difference between a good investment and a high risk.
The integration of nationally portable, industry-recognized credentials with educational pathways, leading to postsecondary credentials with real value in the workplace. The Manufacturing Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on delivering leading-edge solutions, information and services to the nation’s manufacturers.
Our focus is on Education Reform and Workforce Development, Innovation Support and Services, and Research. Should you like more information on how you can participate, support, or learn more about Dream It! Do It! - Contact Tina Chin at NNDA offices #775-883-4413 X 100.
